About Us
Who We Are
Action for Animals is a registered non-profit, no-kill society dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and caring for abandoned and unwanted cats and small animals. Volunteers, donations and referrals are always welcomed. For more information please contact Action for Animals in Distress Society.
At the Action for Animals in Distress Society, our animal friends need a loving, caring permanent home - if this suits your description then they need you! We have kittens, older cats and occasionally dogs and various other creatures up for adoption. Please contact us for adoption hours and viewing times. Our Adoptions page has descriptions of animals that are ready to be adopted! Are you a Senior 55 or over that is missing the love and companionship of a cat? All you need to do is provide a nurturing and caring home. Action for Animals will do the rest and provide everything you need to take care of your pet:
- cat food and litter
- transportation to appointments
- veterinary costs
- options to bequeath

How Can You Help
Action for Animals in Distress Society relies solely upon the generosity of individuals to provide donations for food, housing and medical care. The shelter does not receive any funding from any government agency. Your gift can help to make a difference in the life of a homeless animal. Donations may also be made in honour of your own beloved pets that have passed away. Donations are tax-deductible and we gratefully accept all donations, big or small. Please view our Donations page for donating options. Can't adopt a pet? Sponsoring a pet is a great way to fill a void. If you wish to sponsor a special animal, please send us an e-mail so that we can make arrangements to send you your Certificate, Sponsorship document, bi-annual reports, donation receipt and photographs of your personally chosen new friend. Be kind to an animal today, if you wish to make a pre-authorized monthly or annual donation, please visit our Sponsoring Program page. There are many ways to help out our animal friends, Action for Animals relies heavily on people like you! Action for Animals relies on it's volunteers, sponsors, seniors and members of the public to help keep all our animals safe, healthy and happy.
